Forty Green Hadith
The “Forty Green Hadiths” is a collection that brings together sayings of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) focused on environmental conservation and sustainability. This collection aims to highlight the importance of ecological balance, the stewardship of natural resources, and the responsibility humans have towards the environment from an Islamic perspective. The hadiths, or sayings, are considered guidance for Muslims to live a life in harmony with nature, emphasising principles like moderation, the prohibition of waste, and the appreciation of water, trees, and animals as gifts from Allah to be protected and cherished. This collection is part of a broader movement within the Muslim community to address contemporary environmental challenges through the wisdom found in Islamic tradition.
